Job Purpose 

The role exists to support the company to achieve world class EHS performance & Zero Accidents, complying with all EHS regulatory and quality requirements ensuring the highest standards of loss prevention, risk management & emergency response to protect the safety of staff, neighbours and the environment and protecting the manufacturing capability of the site. 
You’ll use your technical knowledge, leadership qualities and strong communication and influencing abilities to provide managers with the technical guidance, coaching and training to enable them to effectively manage QEHS performance within their business areas and provide training to enable staff to safely carry out their duties. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provision of general QEHS advice, guidance, coaching & training to Managers and staff 
• Advice and input to the generation of the development of risk assessments and safe systems of work. 
• Development and maintenance of QEHS strategies and plans, QEHS management system elements & performance metrics 
• Investigation of near misses and adverse events 
• Involvement in and leadership of internal & external QEHS audits & liaison with regulators. 
• Emergency Response Coordination 
To be successful you will possess the following: 

• COMAH experience 
• Experienced in working with SEPA, HSE and other regulators. 
• A Recognised EHS Qualification (e.g. IOSH Technical Membership or above) or a Master’s Degree in an EHS Subject or relevant experience in the chemical manufacturing Industry 

• Degree in Science or Engineering 
• Chemical Manufacturing experience
