Job Description

We're looking for a Planning Consultant for a leading property investment company in central Bournemouth.

Whether you're an existing Planning Consultant, or have just graduated in Planning, your role will be to support over 250 property investors located throughout the UK.

In order to be considered for the Planning Consultant role, you must be confident in your ability to provide advice, guidance and support on a range of planning related activities including planning applications, licensing and building control processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide planning advice to a large network of HMO property investors
  • Assist in the preparation of planning applications and appeals
  • Act as a Planning Agent on behalf of property investors, liaising with planning case officers and other consultants
  • Advise investors on possible development - either through permitted development or formal planning applications
  • Answer phone and email related planning queries within a timely manner
  • Support investors with investment location analysis
  • Provide background research on properties/planning proposals including planning history searches and permitted development checks
  • Provide advice regarding planning, licensing, building regulations, party wall, and restrictive covenants
  • Provide a regular update to the HFS on planning activities, successes and challenges
  • Deliver planning training and updates to the investor network

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Planning
  • At least 12 months' planning experience
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation and laws
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The desire to progress their planning career and the desire to further their learning and career development
  • Knowledge of HMOs (Houses of multiple occupancy)
  • Exceptional communication skills in all formats
  • Confidence in their ability to deliver advice and guidance to high net worth investors
  • A proactive 'can-do' attitude
