Part-Qualified Management Accountant - outstanding ‘world class’ employer

Starting salary £25,000 -30,000 (negotiable dependent upon experience) + bonus + extensive benefits plan

Job Purpose:

  • To support Financial Controller and the Senior Cost Accountant in pursuing business objectives in terms of output, quality and cost
  • To maintain and improve productivity so that schedules and customer needs are met
  • To identify, develop and implement continuous improvement activities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve the Cost Accounting function to provide management with a timely and efficient service
  • Produce and analyse daily management reports to tight deadlines
  • Maintain daily sales register ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with Company’s revenue recognition policy
  • Prepare productivity and attended hours reports, ensure variances from forecast are explained
  • Prepare material variances reports
  • Produce journal entries with relevant backup in line with Company’s policy
  • Prepare accruals/prepayments entries
  • Assist Senior Cost Accountant in preparing month end Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Adhoc requests
  • Maintain accurate costing information to assist in the pricing of products for the company
  • Assist SOX Coordinator in review of Quarterly SOX requirements
  • Ensure the Company adheres to sound accounting principles

About You:

  • Part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ Relevant degree/professional qualification in Accountancy
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions and apply judgement using own initiative
  • Knowledge of internal control systems and procedures
  • Experience of working within an accountancy function within a manufacturing environment advantageous
  • Experience of Sarbanes and Oxley is advantageous

The Benefits:  Basic annual starting salary of £25-30k (negotiable dependent upon experience), bonus - paid quarterly, 33 days leave (further increasing with service), pension (employee and employer contributions).   Working hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
