National Account Manager


Head Office (Weybridge) & Field Based

To £55K plus extensive benefits package



To deliver Sell-out and Sell-in expectations with a best in class delivery of the Brand strategies, with carefully planned, monitored and adjusted channel strategies across the specific retailers.

Act as an internal champion to deliver all of the necessary levers to unlock the potential of each retailer, ensuring profitable growth in line with agreed budgetary needs


Person Specification:

•                     At least 5+ years relevant sales’ experience within the fragrance/beauty/skincare industry

•                     Experience in National Account Management particularly within e-commerce, department stores and fashion retailers

•                     Must be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the UK Market and competitors

•                     Analytical and numerate with excellent attention to detail and ability to deal with large volumes of data

•                     Excellent presentation skills

•                     High level of commercial awareness

•                     Proven negotiation skills with strong persuading and influencing abilities

•                     Computer literate – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are essential

•                     Personal Qualities

•                     Team player with ability to get involved and have a flexible and pro-active approach to work

•                     Entrepreneurial sales flair

•                     Results orientated and driven combined with flexibility to adapt quickly

Key Responsibilities:

Account Development

•                     Build strong long term strategies across all of the brands, to accelerate the brands development across all channels

•                     Develop, drive and deliver Annual retailer strategies by brand to deliver above market growth across each retailers

•                     Utilise a mix of strategic agility, wider market perspective, strong retailer understanding and Financial reasoning to build robust business plans to accelerate opportunities and minimise risk

•                     Propose, negotiate and deliver improved terms, each year with the retailers, to ensure the objectives are reached

•                     Work closely with the retailers and brand management to propose clear range management, in line with brand strategies to improve productivity

•                     Clearly identify the priorities for each retailer, and ensure the entire business remains focused on these priorities

•                     Act as a business owner, by always thinking of where we can win

Operational Management

•                     Deliver robust and best in class trade activation plans, to unlock all elements of both new and Ongoing brand focuses

•                     For the retailers, ensure the delivery of activations built around long term success, where pillar development needs to be as important as product launches

•                     Closely monitor the trajectory of each retailer and brand performance within the portfolio to bring a level of perspective that will ensure agility

•                     Pragmatically propose solutions and opportunities to own the responsibility of the retailers

•                     Ensure all stocks are monitored and optimised to ensure that retail is maximised but in the context of Stock rotation

•                     Ensure all launches are ordered and delivered on time, and accurately forecasted

•                     Liaise closely with Visual Merchandising to ensure that the retailers levers are fully maximised and the consumer remains at the heart of all trade activations

Relationships & Communication

•                     Leverage strong relationships, internally and externally, to negotiate maximum visibility and trade activations in line with the brand strategies, and the needs of the retailer

•                     Ensure clear communication on all major aspects of the business, to ensure confidence and buy-in on all fronts

•                     Work as a key contributor to the wider business, by leveraging insights and expertise with a can do attitude
