Job Description
Highly sought after firm are recruiting a Trust Assistant or Junior Accountant to join the accounts department on a permanent basis. The Trust Administration team manages over 150 trusts and funds, which give the scope for a wide variety of experience, with property and share portfolios, discretionary, life interest and personal injury trusts and family wealth management.
The team’s work also includes accounting matters for the probate and Court of Protection teams within the Private Client Group. The work is predominantly accounting-based, yet does involve significant interaction with the wider Private Client planning team to ensure a complete service to clients.
Key Responsibilities and Duties include:
Arranging payments to beneficiaries and for trustees
Data input for trust accounting of bank, brokers and dividend information
Updating capital information of trustees’ share portfolios
Reconciling to third party records
Monitoring of client funds on deposit
Contact with other professional advisors as well as clients
Assisting with the production of annual trust accounts, and preparing Trust & Estate Tax Returns and beneficiary income statements
Preparing individual tax returns
Assisting with preparation of estate accounts
Preparing IHT100 returns

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications & Experience
At least 2 years in a practical accountancy background
Income, Gains and Inheritance Tax experience
IT literate, with good working knowledge of Word & Excel and possible previous experience using CCH Trust Accounts and CCH Personal Tax or similar software
Motivation & Competencies
Relevant experience within a professional services firm would be desirable
Excellent communication both written and verbal - the role involves liaison with internal and external people at a senior level
The flexibility to work outside normal office hours as may be required from time to time
Salary: £24,000 to £29,000
Working hours: 9:30am to 5:30pm
