IT Assistant 

Poole, Dorset

Up to £22k p/a (DOE)

Our established client based in Poole has an exciting opportunity for an IT Assistant to join their team.

The successful candidate will support the company on IT matters and complete any other tasks that may be assigned to you by your Line Manager.

The role of the IT Assistant is primarily to assist the Finance and IT Manager with supporting the branch operations.
The duties include, but are not limited to:

Direct IT Support
•    Dealing with IT issues raised by operational teams and seeking to resolve them
•    Identifying, reporting, resolving software issues and bugs
•    Troubleshooting broadband and telephone faults – remote and on-site, may include minor rewiring or liaising with ISPs
•    Managing MyDiary broadband accounts – procuring/amending/moving/closing
•    Reporting 2nd line support issues to IT software provider

Systems Set up
•    Physical installations – may include flatpack assembly, cabling, setting up routers, connecting hardware
•    Software installations, setup, updates, fault-finding and resolutions
•    Hardware sourcing/purchase

Systems Monitoring
•    Monitoring feedback/service status
•    Monitoring goals, activity diaries, users, support plans
•    Maintain user accounts
•    UAT Testing – application and interfaces

Staff Training
•    Assisting with staff training on IT systems
•    Assisting with compiling user manuals

Hardware Support
•    Ordering phones and setting up of staff mobiles
•    Weekly update of telephone directory
•    Managing staff/client mobile accounts – including communication sim swaps/barring/etc to Purple Comms
•    Procuring/purchasing and setting up laptops/thin clients/computers (software, updates, etc)
•    Instructing Taylor Made re: new or closed user accounts/mail flow/mailbox access

Software development
•    Assisting with software testing and debugging
•    Assisting with designing specifications for upcoming development
•    Creating Friends & Family user accounts, some training/support
•    Creating/designing reports/spreadsheets/documents

Report Generation
•    Creating billing contracts
•    Extracting data for reports/queries
•    Running regular reports for managers, summarising and interpreting data
•    Maintaining IT asset register
•    Monthly KPI reporting

Systems Supported
•    Windows operating system
•    Microsoft Office
•    Coldharbour roster system
•    Call Confirm system
•    MyDiary software system. 
•    VVS Speakset system
The successful candidate will have: 
•    Good IT skills and confident in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook with fast and accurate keyboard skills 
•    Working knowledge of IT hardware and software basics
•    Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person 
•    Strong attention to detail and able to produce work with a high level of accuracy  
•    Good organisational and workload management skills specifically with the ability to prioritise own work, and reprioritise when necessary 
•    Ability to work as part of a small team to support a rapidly growing organisation
•    Able to work in an office environment that often demands high levels of concentration, while coping with frequent interruptions 
•    Integrity and understanding of care needed with sensitive information  
•    Able to respond to changing priorities 
•    Able to manage a high volume workload 
•    Able to analyse information  
•    Good problem solving ability 
•    Willingness to accept responsibility  
•    A background within the care sector (desirable)
•    A full UK drivers licence and a car
