My Client is recognised worldwide as the leader of their sports community. Their club and hospitality is set in the heart of the Southern countryside and following the recent departure of the previous incumbent, we now have an exciting and unique opportunity for a General Manager.
This is a hands-on role in a customer focussed environment working with high profile international customers and sponsors. You will be a confident ambassador for the club, have a highly visible presence and your enthusiasm and dynamism will be contagious, especially in driving social initiatives and events. Experience of their sport is not essential, but you will be naturally entrepreneurial, balanced with a proven ability of leading and motivating a team to implement systems and procedures.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking/forward planning with day-to-day operational management, and your natural outgoing personality will engage and drive an excellent customer, staff, player and member experience. Operational management includes the need to ensure that the business is meeting financial, compliance and governance objectives.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chairman but will work closely with the Chief Executive and will have experience of communicating at all levels, naturally diplomatic with the ability of managing competing priorities. This hospitality establishment is managed by a small focussed team and therefore a close working relationship will be required with all staff. The key Heads of Department are Operations Manager and Head Groundsman.
