Engineering Supervisor - £38,000 - £40,000 (negotiable dependent upon experience) + benefits

(quarterly bonuses, pension scheme, life insurance), 37.5 hour week – 8.30am-4.30pm

Role Purpose  - to provide Engineering supervision, support and expertise to the production process

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Engineer Supervisor will be responsible for reliability and capability plant equipment - ensuring production obligations are met and  key performance indicators of Safety, Quality, Cost and Output are maximised.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering supervision/support and expertise as directed

  • Carry out fault diagnosis and provide rapid response to breakdown situations within the maintained areas

  • Ensure that safe working conditions are maintained at all times

  • Ensure efficient communication and effective shift handovers

  • Assist with improvement methods, reducing plant downtime and increasing plant efficiencies within the areas of responsibility - utilising modern improvement techniques and updates

  • Plan/implement and ensure Planned Maintenance activities are being carried out on all equipment

  • Ensure that your engineering team have the correct standards of husbandry and housekeeping to a high standard in line with the 5’s audit process

  • Ensure that all engineering plants within the areas are correctly serviced, maintained and calibrated in conjunction with the Planned Maintenance System

  • Provide daily management information

  • Supervising, leading and motivating employees

Requirements:

  • Degree (or HND/HNC) qualified in Engineering with practical experience in a previous role orhave served a recognised apprenticeship

  • Supervisory and/or team management experience essential

  • Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative

  • Able to organise improvements

  • Eager, ambitious, committed, self starter

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Salary:

    In return you will receive a salary of £38,000 - £40,000 per annum (negotiable dependent upon experience) plus quarterly bonuses, pension scheme, life insurance, 37.5 hour week – 8.30am-4.30pm, 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays).
