Business Development Manager

Based from Southampton / £35k - £45k dependent on retail sales experience

Driving Licence essential as national travel is required

 

Baobab Sales Recruitment is recruiting for a Business Development Manager on behalf of an expanding and dynamic Southampton based company who is going through a period of growth and change!

As part of an expanding team of dynamic and highly motivated sales professionals, the role covers new business lead generation and solution sales with you as the Business Development Manager responsible for the delivery of business development commercial targets within a defined industry sector specifically RETAIL.

As their specialist RETAIL Business Development Manager you will have extensive knowledge in the retail sector including selling into both high street and FMCG with high value products. 

You will also have proven lead generation skills if you would like to join this focussed sales team.

The candidate will work closely with account directors, marketing and product teams driving revenue acquisition will ensure that the business goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities from new accounts.
  • Establish and execute a sales plan for each target account.
  • Monitor status of leads and opportunities to ensure a pipeline of opportunities is maintained.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all solutions for appropriate cross-sell opportunities.
  • Analyse potential opportunities and develop sales strategies for each customer account.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within an account
  • Create appointments with new accounts to propose and present new or value added solutions.
  • Write compelling proposals and deliver impressive presentations to new accounts
  • To effectively liaise with internal colleagues, particularly in Marketing, Product and Client Delivery so that excellent customer service is provided 
  • Continually identifying new prospects and entering on CRM database ensuring correct organisations and decision makers are being targeted

You will also be an organised and proven networker who has excellent time management skills and a knack for recognising and winning new business! As this client is a technology client, it would be nice if you were social media savvy and had an established online presence and have the gravitas to engage with senior business figures.
