Bookkeeper (Xero) – Chartered Accountancy Practice

 

£25-30,000 p.a. (negotiable dependent upon experience) + benefits

 

Based in Dorking

 

 

 

As a long standing and highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants, we support a broad range of clients from individuals to larger businesses, now looking for a Xero Certified Bookkeeper to join our growing team.  Working from offices in Dorking, reporting to the Director and Owner, the role outline is as follows:

 

  • You will be responsible for dealing with a broad spectrum of client businesses
  • Bookkeeping up to trial balance and underlying control account reconciliations
  • Monitoring work for and including liaising with, clients to provide information as required
  • Meet deadlines and time budgets
  • Manage and complete VAT returns for allocated clients
  • Composing correspondence to clients, HM Revenue & Customs, Companies House and others
  • Visit client sites as required to carry out bookkeeping and management accounts
  • Conduct training for relevant accounts packages when required, both internally and to clients
  • Maintain a full and accurate audit trail by filing and referencing documents in a timely manner
  • As this is a smaller Practice, there will be occasional requirements to ‘meet and greet’ visiting clients, alongside other office administration duties, as the workload demands
  • This is a full-time position, office based with occasional travel to client premises

 

About You:-

  • Previous experience of bookkeeping in an accounting practice highly desirable
  • Trained and competent in the use of Xero accounting software.
  • Competent in the use of Excel.
  • Works well with deadlines in a methodical and conscientious way
  • Excellent communication skills, confident with client facing responsibilities
  • Self-motivated and positive approach to work
  • Customer and team focussed

 

About The Benefits

  • Annual salary between £25-30,000 (negotiable)
  • 25 days leave + Bank & statutory holidays
  • Pension (employee and employer contributions)
  • Working hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
