This role is for someone who is technically sound, an experienced Developer who has experience of leading small design teams on multiple development projects, advising on technical design etc. they need to be able to provide the technical guidance to the team – ideally a Technical Architect or an Aspiring Technical Architect who is technically competent with team leading ability.

We are growing our digital team of agile service design specialists to build and deliver user centred services and solutions in partnership with our clients across England and Wales. As part of this expansion we want to grow our team of outstanding Technical Architects to help build and run great digital services for our clients.
The roles will ideally be based from our London or Reading digital hub offices. Our clients have sites across the UK so some (fully expensed) travel may be required from time to time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
As an Agile Development Team Leader you will be responsible for the development of end-to-end solution designs, incorporating all elements of architecture. You will also ensure that all applications and services used within a business solution work together seamlessly to deliver business benefits. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, in the development, operation and ongoing improvement of complex, transformational digital services serving millions of users. You’ll be expected to work with our clients to understand user needs and make recommendations regarding technical (including cloud) options to meet business challenges and opportunities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You will have a strong track record of building and running high volume, reliable and flexible services that are user focused and continually improved through iterative development. You should ideally have experience in development of transformational digital services alongside current services and legacy systems and/or rapid development of very high-volume “greenfield” services. You will need a balance of technical expertise, gained through current, hands-on involvement in developing real-world systems, and excellent interpersonal skills to quickly develop strong working relationships in high-pressure environments.
You should possess an in-depth knowledge of business applications, technology stacks and development practices. Knowledge and experience of DevOps is a positive advantage in the role as is an understanding and implementation of, digital transformation and Cloud technologies. As an Architect experience/knowledge of service oriented architectures cloud computing environments Agile methodologies, cost estimation and modelling are also essential.
You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills to be able to work as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will need to be able to summarise complex ideas into simple terms and express these to both a non-technical and technical audiences as appropriate. You will need to have experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams made up of internal and external stakeholders.
