Job Description
On behalf of our client, a well-established multi-office practice, Curtis Recruitment is seeking an Accountant for the firm’s Witney office. Reporting to the Manager, you will provide support for the managers and directors in providing professional accountancy services, including, financial reporting and taxation. As part of this position, you may need to travel to other offices on occasion.
Within this role, the key responsibilities and accountabilities of the Accountant will include:
- Internal contact with Managers and Directors
- Liaising with clients, providing financial information and advice
- Client record processing
- Bookkeeping
- VAT return preparation and checking
- Management and statutory accounts preparation
- Accounts and financial statements preparation
- Personal and company tax computations and returns
- Supporting the Company Directors’ clients
- Supporting junior colleagues
To be considered for this role, you will have the following qualifications and skills:
- AAT, ACA, ACCA qualified or part-qualified or qualified by experience
- Previous experience of working within a practice environment
- Demonstrable financial management experience
- Legislative compliance – ability to interpret and relevant legislation to clients
- Good numeracy skills
- Strong IT skills
- Good communication skills including ability to take notes
- Previous working knowledge of Sage, Quickbooks and / or Xero is desirable
