Accountancy General Practice Manager, Ascot
**Exciting new role, with genuine progression opportunities**
£40,000 - £55,000 (negotiable dependent on qualification and experience)
A rare opportunity to join an established firm of independent Chartered Accountants offering an outstanding work environment, a great team ethic and a reputation for putting good humour and personality alongside hard work and a genuine client focus. Acting for clients including SMEs, high net worth individuals and UK branches and subsidiaries of prestigious European and US companies covering various business sectors, we are looking for a General Practice Manager to join the team.
Having recently acquired a small Surrey based firm with 100% client conversion, they are about to embark on a larger project to acquire the clients from a central London firm and so are now recruiting for a Manager who will be responsible for the integration and management of the new clients, together with the management of the existing portfolio. The General Practice Manager will be responsible for all aspects of audit (currently 10 statutory small company audits) and accounts management, as well as the development of the team and in-house processes.
This role will suit someone looking to progress within the practice environment and for the right person it offers definite potential of reaching partner level in the short to medium term.
General Practice Manager Role purpose:
To provide a client focused and commercially aware service in an efficient and professional manner, in line with relevant legislation, standards and best practice
To mentor, train and manage junior members of staff to enable them to develop and take on more client responsibilities and ad hoc projects
To actively promote and market the firm and to retain and develop relationships with existing clients
To manage the firm’s audits which would require a hands-on approach initially while at the same time developing the team
To manage / lead / share responsibility in ad hoc projects as they arise e.g. GDPR implementation, pushing forward client and in-house applications in readiness for the digital age and marketing and website initiatives
General Practice Manager Role Requirements:
Qualified Accountant to CA, ACA or ACCA level with at least 2-3 years post qualified accountancy experience
Previous experience in a supervisory /management capacity
Experience running own client portfolio
Familiarity with current UK auditing / accounting standards and a good working knowledge of corporation tax
Excellent organisational, communication and project management skills
Working knowledge of VAT, personal taxation, payroll, CIS and company secretarial would be an advantage as this is very much a General Practice role
Enthusiasm and ambition to drive a practice forward, with the ability to work flexibly between hands on client work and management of the team and processes
Pay, Benefits and other information: Salary £40,000 - £55,000 (scope for negotiation dependent upon qualification and experience). 23 annual leave + bank and statutory holiday. Free on site parking and good public transport links. Potential of reaching partner level in the short to medium term.
