This Gastro Pub situated just outside the Andover area is part of a small group of award-winning Gastro Pubs with rooms, seeking a superb and passionate Head Chef on a full-time permanent basis.
The Company is a growing high-end Gastro Pub brand where each venue has its own unique look and menu, all created by the local seasonal and sustainable food produce ranging from vegetables, fish and meats, from a number of fantastic and reputable suppliers.

With a trusted and successful reputation of producing menu items using succulent meats and veg to craft ales and artisan cheeses, successful menu creation and pairing is key, as you will need to be creative but also realistic with your guest tastes and what will entice customers into your restaurant.

Key Features of the Role:
As The Head Chef you will need to have management skills to control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities, in a high-quality kitchen.
Head Chef responsibility and ability to construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings. Approving and “polishing” dishes before they reach the customer, hitting margin GP and avoiding wastage, with quality customer feedback.
Everyone in the brigade, from the Kitchen Porter to the Sous Chef, looks to you for inspiration and you'll have to hold your own with the front of house restaurant staff.
A born and charismatic leader who relishes taking responsibility for the running of a high-quality kitchen, but also knows when and how to delegate, interact and engage with guests and the rest of the team.
Passionate about using fresh, seasonal and local produce, and understand of how the local market works
Full driving licence and own reliable transport is required due to the location.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Existing Head Chef or Senior Chef within a high-quality and or award-winning hotel, restaurant, Gastro Pub or Branded kitchen.
 
Reliable, conscientious and punctual and will be a role model with experience engaging with guests and all FOH and BOH team members in a professional and immaculate manner.
Fresh, seasonal and local produce food preparation, cooking and presentation is a must in a high-quality kitchen, with experience sourcing menu items from local market sources.
Must have experience putting together a properly costed menu that suit the clientele and the brief for the pub, as well as price points, GP, avoiding excessive wastage and generating positive guest reviews and repeat business, or brand promoters.
Team motivation, recruitment, disciplinary and support experience in a high-quality kitchen environment is required along with an emotional robustness.
Extremely well organised, worked under pressure, and is able to show a flexible approach to working hours where needed, leading by example.
Adhered to company standards and procedures and has achieved financial and management targets.
Strong verbal communication and people skills, able to communicate daily to all relevant departments.
Excellent working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH and has Level 3 certification in food hygiene.
What’s on Offer?
The accomplished Head Chef who is able to perform will at trial and interview will be able to achieve a basic annual salary ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 and annual salary reviews.
£5000 Company performance related bonus scheme, plus pension.
Potential live in accommodation but this can not be guaranteed, so relocators will need to source their own accommodation out of their own pocket, no compensation or relocation costs are covered.
