Our client is an award winning Computer Hardware business with major plans to push growth targets in 2017. As well as expanding their market not just in the UK but Internationally and also leveraging their existing client base. They are now seeking a specialist Business Development Manager.
The position is nominally based at our client’s head office close to the South Coast in Hampshire. This is a full time permanent position.
The successful candidate will look to develop opportunities within 19” Rack Systems and win business for the company.
Our client is an ambitious company with aggressive growth plans to meet set milestones. As such this is an integral role in order to support the companies’ development during this time and initiate a number of key accounts in order to drive sales and profit.
Using your baseline understanding of 19” Rack architectures, including your awareness of mechanical structures, cable management, power distribution, environmental management and general IT and Comms payloads, you will be able to sell 19” rack related products either from component sets or from more integrated systems.
As a robust individual, you will take on new challenges and targets that are set to drive the business forward, utilising your B2B sales skills, as well as your relationship building, consultative approach and negotiation skills.
This role requires you to split your time between being field based, homebased and working remotely from the Head Office. It also requires you to spend quite a lot of time travelling and meeting people and carrying out presentations to internal and external stakeholders. So, confidence is key!
The role will require you to devise prospect and account development sales strategies, with innovative and enthusiastic contributions. This will utilise your experience in targeting key accounts with the ability to grow, with a strategic plan in order to execute the activities which need to be done to increase sales.
This role will require you to take on a mix of both business development in order to develop a pipeline and follow-on account management once customers are secured.
You will receive support from all areas of the company in order to help provide customers with the most effective and relevant information to support technical requirements.
You will be expected to immerse yourself in understanding build/design to order solutions capability, plus be able to drive the benefits and features of the offerings in order to provide the most suitable solution to customers and persuade them of the value of the proposition.

Knowledge and Skills:
Our client is looking for you to have a strong background in a field based business development, sales and account management role with proven experience in delivering a multi-million sales target.
Our client is looking for an individual with experience in solution orientated selling of industrial computers from a computing, electronics or technology related background.
You will need to have prior experience in selling 19” Rack equipment or similar technology industry background.
You will need to have a strong field sales background and proven track record.
You will need to have successfully delivered 1m+ sales revenue in previous roles.
You will need to have a strong and proven B2B sales background
You will need to have knowledge or experience in selling into one or more of the following sectors: Defence, Energy, Transport, Medical, Communications or Automation Sectors.
You will need to have a clean driving licence.
You will need to have worked in a similar Homebased, Field Based and remotely from a Head Office, requiring autonomy, organisation, self-motivation and drive.
You will need to be a proficient user of Adobe Creative Studio Packages (Photoshop and In-Design).
Finally, you will need to have worked to targets and KPI’s.
