Job Description

Following recent investment a leading business to business Utilities organisation based in Manchester City Centre is growing its IT function during a period of continuous growth. There is an immediate need for a talented Web Developer who is looking for a career rather than a job and to work in a rewarding environment under the guidance of an exceptional leadership team.

The business is on a path to double in size of headcount, turnover and profit over the next 2 years with an ultimate target of more than quadrupling in the next 5. As such this is an incredible time for a Web Developer to join given the long term progression opportunities that this will lead to.

 

As a Web Developer to succeed in the role, you will, be comfortable operating a Continuous Integration process, ideally with at least two years experience. This is a mature system that has been implemented since 2012 

You will have good experience in web optimization  the ideal applicant would have a good working knowledge of Amazon Web Services, (AWS)

There are a number of projects to get your teeth into including upgrading and maintaining existing engines as well as creating new products and continuing with the call centre integration, working with the Marketing team on improving SEO , reviewing and continuing with reviewing email templates, landing pages etc etc.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two years PHP / Ruby on Rails / Python / Java
  • Working knowledge of AWS – Apache
  • Experience with Content Management systems such as  Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla
  • Working experience of optimizing and maintaining websites/servers
  • Systems Integration
  • Database Administration
  • Linux – Server Administration
  • REST APIs
  • HTML5, CSS3, JAVASCRIPT

This is a flexible and fluid development environment, project dependant on working methodologies and communicating regularly with stakeholders and all departments across the business.

In return for your hardwork and commitment you will receive a competitive basic salary of between £20,000 - £26,000 per annum.
