About The Role:
The role is to prepare MOSFETs for characterisation by soldering and mounting components on to test printed circuit boards in line with engineering requests. It's main duties will include:
To research new materials and methods to optimise solder joints between existing and new packages to PCBs.
Maintain and advance surface mount line infrastructure to ensure equipment is in good order and compliant to international standards.
Control PCB and other material stock.
Maintain accurate and traceable records of results.
To ensure that trials are conducted to international standards, customer requirements and engineering requests.
Liaising with engineers and suppliers to optimise the performance of the surface mount line.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Science or electronics qualification required.
Experience of a working surface mount line & knowledge of materials, solders and chemicals used.
Knowledge of the lifetime and fatigue of solder joints.
Experience operating and programming automatic pick & place equipment for new PCB & package designs.
PCB manufacturing background is desirable.
Ability to solder effectively and appropriately.
Excellent communication skills.
Highly organised with methodical approach to work and keen attention to detail.
Understanding of basic electronic components.
About The Benefits:
Salary of up to £29,000
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 8am-4:30pm. Friday, 8am-2pm
