Role: Software Controls Engineer
Job Type: Permanent

We are recruiting for a full time Software Controls Engineer based in our office in Rossendale. The salary will
depend on experience and qualifications. Core hours for the role will be 40hrs/week Monday to Friday withadditional hours if required. This role has arisen from the continued growth and success of our Systems team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have experience of PLC control systems, incorporating a good understanding of
associated regulations, standards and best practice.

Main duties will include:
 Understanding and interpreting customers’ technical requirements
 Liaising with customers to clarify requirements
 Design of controls systems schematics and software in compliance with regulations
 Procurement of all hardware and software required to build the system
 Writing and configuring PLC and HMI industrial software, also knowledge of SCADA
 Generating technical documentation as required
 Leading and monitoring workflow in accordance with the agreed production schedule
 Working with colleagues in the manufacturing team
 Overseeing delivery, installation and/or commissioning if necessary
 Working in accordance with company rules and procedures and quality management system

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following:


 A suitable, recognised industrial software, controls or electrical qualification
 Recent PLC controls and software design experience in a similar industry, ideally
o Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) PLCs and HMIs
o Siemens PLCs and HMIs
 Industrial communications experience, such as Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus
 Highly self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
 Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
 Ability to work well with others
 Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
 Knowledge or experience of any of the following would be an advantage:
o SCADA systems
o Electrical experience
o Commercial skills
 Full UK driving licence
 Experience of working to Quality systems ISO 9001
