Job Description

Our client has an exciting opening for an Agricultural Service Engineer to work on various pieces of agricultural machinery both on-site and in their workshop.

Key Purpose of job:


To be part of our service team to fulfil customer demand in a variety of engineering tasks, with an electrical bias and meet the company’s needs for quality, cost and on time delivery

Key Accountabilities:

·         To successfully complete work activities either solo or with other team members to meet operational requirements both at the factory and on customer sites.

·         Ensure individually and collectively you perform to the required company standard of performance and behaviour.

·         Communicate effectively to all areas of the business

·         Identify and lead continuous improvement and learn activities

·         Work to drawings as necessary

·         To be able to methodically fault on find on a variety of machines

·         Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members and colleagues

·         Ensure that all other policies and procedures are complied with

·         Be proactive in the initiation and support improvement activities

·         Attend and actively support improvement activities

·         Promote and maintain a clean and organised working environment

·         Fulfil the duty and obligation in terms of reporting to the Service Managers breaches and discipline

·         To adhere to all documented procedures

·         Deputise for the Service Manager / Supervisor on phone cover if required

·         Organise parts for your service projects

·         Carry out site inspections of new equipment and complete detailed reports

·         Check and update operator parts manuals

·         Document common fault information, report back to Manager / Supervisor to investigate / identify trends.

·         Initial point of contact for customers for product and technical information

·         Deal with technical enquiries from both departments within the company and external customers

·         Provide practical and technical information to assist in the development of new and existing products.

Standard:

·         Be flexible and undertake any other duties which aid and assist in the smooth running of the business

·         To ensure the necessary steps are taken to adhere to the Company Health & Safety standards in order to create a positive and safe working environment.


Key Attributes/Competences:

·         Time served apprenticeship or JIB standard.

·         The ability to use their own initiative and problem solve

·         A good understanding of business processes

·         Good organisational and project management skills

·         Good time management and workload skills

·         Good communication skills, written and spoken

·         A desire to achieve best practice

·         Technical knowledge

·         Customer handling skills

·         IT literate

·         Numerate
