Job Description

Senior Production/ Technical  Manager

Reporting to: Managing Directors

The person

  • An exceptional leader with the highest standards and real attention to detail with the ability to instigate projects and see them through to completion.
  • They must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a small team.
  • Must be able to lead and deliver change winning people round with the force of their personality, energy and enthusiasm carrying staff with them at every level

The Skills

  • Expertise in scheduling and managing production flows for complex and individual items, production planning and engineering
  • An excellent knowledge of joinery manufacturing techniques, glass and glazing and paint application
  • Detailed knowledge of CNC machinery and the latest tooling for the manufacturing of timber windows and doors
  • Detailed knowledge of the technical nuances of timber windows and doors, with a full understanding of the necessary legislative requirements e.g. part L legislation and WER
  • Expertise in stores, stock management and purchasing
  • Outstanding IT skills and financial awareness including budget management and production scheduling
  • A commercial approach to ensuring that all production facilities are maximised and profitable in their own right

  • That they have organisational and leadership skills to fulfil the role and develop the production capacity further with a can do attitude and proactive approach

Role Responsibilities

  • Planning coordination and control of our manufacturing processes, including the development of new processes to improve cost efficiency, productivity and profitability of the manufacturing process
  • Ensuring that goods are produced efficiently, on time and to the highest standards
  • Management of all human and material resources required to manufacture products
  • Management of Health and Safety in workshops and offices
  • Monitoring of product quality and standards
  • Development and monitoring of productivity and profitability in the workshops
  • Responsibility for the technical development of products and services, including ensuring products meet all legislative requirements and obtain the necessary accreditations
  • Responsible for ensuring that production margins are maintained and improved by the efficient and cost effective purchase of raw materials and close management of overtime levels in the workshop
  • Member of the senior management team
