Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a growing design and manufacturing electronics business as they look to increase their product portfolio and double the headcount of their engineering department. As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer you will be working closely with the Chief Engineer assisting with research and development projects alongside a team of highly skilled multidiscipline engineers. You will have a thorough understanding of RF Systems, digital modulation and spread spectrum techniques and have previous experience at senior design level. This is a close-knit long-standing team who all pull together to ensure quality of product and on time delivery, so you must have willingness to take instruction and able to produce results under pressure.

Your remit will include but not be limited to:
System design and requirements capture for military and aerospace products.
FPGA design from concept through to test, verification and release, depending on experience.
Embedded firmware development targeting a wide range of microprocessors.
Complex PCB design & layout
Digital Signal Processing using MATLAB and Simulink.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
PCB design experience of complex embedded systems for use in harsh military environments conforming to military EMC standards such as RTCA/DO-160G
PCB layout experience including high speed interfaces would be desirable
Ideally skilled in VHDL with experience of the Intel/Altera (ideal) or Xilinx design environment
Experience of designing to RTCA/DO-254 and DO-178 would be desirable
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
Familiarity with ARM microprocessors and the Keil development environment would be desirable.
A good appreciation of system level design extending beyond the embedded environment

It is essential that the Senior Embedded Systems Engineer has strong technical leadership skills and highly skilled in C/C++ with experience of Real Time Operating Systems in the embedded environment. You will have a Technical Degree and have 10+ years’ experience within the aerospace or medical industry.
