We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, for our progressive client. It will be a temp to perm basis. You will be mechanically biased, with basic knowledge of electrical. You will be used to working within a fast paced environment on days. As a Mechanical Maintenance person you will maintain, service and ensure that production critical machinery is a) kept running and b) repaired as quickly as possible.
To play an active role in the improvement of the M+H site, including layout and process changes.
Ongoing maintenance of machinery to ensure it is working to its full capability and preventatively maintained at all times.
Support all improvement activities within the operations area / department.
To be a pro-active technician and support plant improvement projects from concept to conclusion.
Liaise with Production personnel to identify and resolve current engineering issues, initiating responsive reaction to any breakdowns of critical production machinery. Some knowledge of electrical, would be an advantage.
To play an active and integral role in the implementation and control of a plant preventative maintenance scheme. Identify and introduce effective maintenance techniques, being pro active in your approach to all-mechanical issues and problems. Understand and play an integral role within the business continuous improvement drive. Budgetary control of your specific area and critical spares stock. Play and active role in all site wide TPM initiatives and minimise breakdown times, thus ensuring the continued efficient running the plant and an increase in overall equipment effectiveness.
Skills & Experience:
The successful applicant will be educated to HNC level or equivalent.
Have a flexible, hands on practical approach to both problem solving and people liaison. Able to hit the ground running, very quickly becoming an integral part of the team, able to problem solve and think laterally when the pressure is really on. Ideally you will be a from a high volume-manufacturing environment, preferably automation background. Knowledge in Pleaters, robofsky – pushbar – star, P U dispensing Equipment, Soniqs Welding and Roll Forming Equipment. A basic knowledge of lean techniques would also be of benefit.
