Job Description

NSB Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer in Bristol, the successful candidate will join our clients team to help drive through process improvements in the current manufacturing processes.

Our client is a worldwide manufacturer of CNC machined products for the Aerospace industry and to align with the ambition of this manufacturing unit, a new vacancy has arisen.

Your role will be:

• To lead both continuous improvement projects and capital investment projects – through good birth-to-completion project management Must also lead multi-discipline teams effectively in completing improvement tasks
• To lead the capture and measurement of process (and machine) capabilities across the plant. Identify capability shortfalls and create ‘route-to-green’ solutions for closing these gaps
• To utilise green and/or black belt training to ensure effective problem solving and following up on preventative measures
• To lead the introduction of lean manufacturing principles within the channels – focusing on waste elimination, 5S, Resetting improvements, Demand Driven Flow and Manufacturing Excellence
• To manage new process/product introduction through recognised methods
• To work closely with the Product Development team ensuring manufacturing techniques are aligned with new design concepts/requirements and can be fully industrialised
• To provide comprehensive reporting to all levels within the business unit detailing key activities and the progressing of continuous improvement and capital expenditure projects
• To establish best practices within the channels, communicate these effectively and ensure they are be robustly adhered to
• Responsible for their own health & safety and that of anyone who may be affected by their activity. To cooperate with their employer with respect to health, safety and environmental matters
• As required by Immediate Manager or Manufacturing Manager to undertake such studies / projects as may be decided necessary to determine the most effective method of manufacturing or possible new products and keep up to date with modern trends in industry.

To be considered for this exciting Manufacturing Engineer role, you will need the following:

• Preferable a qualification in engineering and/or automation
• Strong experimental projects background
• Demonstrable project delivery
• Understands production flow and Lean manufacturing concepts
• Robot or automation application development experience desirable
• Strong analytical and organisational skills to effectively develop new technologies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Understanding and knowledge of automation control systems
