Working as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, MQS, for this specialist civil engineering groundworks division of multi-disciplinary PLC contractor. They have long industry pedigree, have stayed focused on local groundworks, earthworks and small civils projects in Bristol & South West, primarily servicing major homebuilders. They are ‘family feel’ and you will be part of a loyal stable commercial core team working on pre and post construction.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor, MQS role itself which involves end-to-end QS responsibilities for jobs in South West. Plus managing and mentoring junior staff in the commercial team. The successful candidate will manage sub-contracts for roads, drainage, services, and external works. General responsibilities include general commercial and contract management. More specifically, site visits & inspections, producing costs budgets and variations, completing cost & valuation reports, final accounts, maximizing profit, cash flow and revenue forecasting, procurement and letting sub-contracts, certifying payments, assisting with tender process, producing BOQ and general commercial stewardship.

You will have

5+ years experience as a QS in civil or groundworks sector will be ideal within a commercial / residential project environment. Ideally, ou will have proven track record in supervisory management, however established QS’ with leadership abilities ready to ‘step-up’ will be considered. Ideally HNC / HND qualified in QS / Quantity Surveying or equivalent. CSCS Card. Good attitude, integrity and work ethic. Plus decent IT skills in MS Office & industry specific software.
