Job Description

Maintaining the office and client account records of the firm in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with SAR. The Legal Cashier is a key interface between accounts and other members of the firm and should adopt a helpful, efficient and professional attitude to all dealings with members of the firm and external businesses ie bank, accountants, auditors etc.

Main duties as follows:

  • Posting of all office/client receipts ie bank receipts, cheques, postal orders, cash and credit/debit cards to both the Sage Accounts System and the Case Management System
  • Payments to clients via BACs, and cheque as well as reconciliations of all Client account ledgers
  • Petty cash
  • Credit Control via telephone/correspondence
  • Purchase Ledger; payment of all office supplies, tracing agents, foreign agents, counsel and sheriff fees etc
  • Office and client account bank reconciliations
  • Monthly billing- preparation, reconciliation, and posting of all invoices
  • Maintain and create spreadsheets
  • Annual routines- year end clean up/ assist with yearly SAR audit
