The Company

DeSantis Arin is recruiting a Lead Web Data Analyst on behalf of its globally recognised Ecommerce consulting client.


The Role

The main duties of the role can be summarised as:

  • You’ll take accountability for the outcomes of your team (size 3 FTE)
  • You will set the strategy and objectives for your team which you translate into an actionable roadmap
  • You will work with the Head of eCommerce to agree on the priorities for the team
  • You’ll actively research the most appropriate development techniques, taking inspiration from outside as well as inside, and apply these to your team, sharing with appropriate stakeholders in order to get buy in
  • You identify and help solve issues beyond your own team. Collaborate closely with the marketing teams to help improve their data collection strategies
  • To work with ingenuity with all of your stakeholders; approaching your role’s function in a creative, coherent – anticipatory and highly responsive manner
  • To work collaboratively as part of our clients’ multidisciplinary team
  • To work with the Group Data Science team on projects relevant to the business
  • To be the go-to expert for data analytics needs; for product experience, merchandising and marketing teams
  • To be the advocate of evolving the analytics competency appropriate to team/business needs
  • Approaching your activities with excellent and exacting analytical and critical skills; using data creatively and coherently to derive valuable insight and advocated direction for the business/projects
  • You will ensure that data sources/data are clean and compatible across the spectrum of tools needed for analytics work – monitoring and auditing data consistently
  • You will be vigilant and fastidious in your sourcing and use of data to ensure that insights have integrity
  • You’ll actively advocate for the use of new/relevant tools for analytics activities
  • You will be active in discussing, suggesting and establishing the most important and relevant means of tracking performance (KPIs, Conversion targets and other metrics), customer behaviours for all your stakeholders
  • You will organise, analyse and report via surveys as needed (Competitor Benchmarking)
  • You will be proactive and expedient in flagging any anomalies observed within your analytics remit; suggesting creative and relevant solutions and actions
  • You will be skilled in communicating insights (verbally and via documentation) in the most suitable: comprehensible and impactful ways for various colleague and stakeholder audiences’ needs and preferences across the business (graphs, visualisations)
  • You will create accessible and relevant tools and media (dashboards) for communicating insights - inside and outside of your tools (Adobe Analytics)
  • You will be an active contributor – from the analytics Point of View - to discussions around optimising process and reporting within the business


The Requirements

If you are to be the right candidate for the job you will need to have commercial experience in the following:



  • 5+ years of industry experience in the Data/Web Analytics domain
  • Extensive experience of using industry-standard Analytics tools (especially Adobe Analytics)
  • Curiosity, inquisitiveness and solid analytical, interpretive and communication skills
  • A creative spark, demonstrating ingenuity and strategic thinking, a committed collaborator, adaptable and flexible attitude
  • Demonstrable track record in influencing and delivering business impact using analytics
  • Familiarity and comfort with working with large, complex and variously-sourced data sets
  • Some experience of working with analytics across numerous experience touchpoints and across different platforms (Mobile/Tablet vs. Desktop – even TV and Wearable)
  • Excellent and proven ability to communicate the value (insights) and potential impacts (actions) from analytics activities
  • Experience of working with various stakeholder mind-sets and preferences when delivering insight and advocated action (Various formats for verbal and written communications)
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving, insight-driven entrepreneurial environment with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Advanced Excel; web/data analytics packages would be a bonus
  • At least an undergraduate qualification in: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or equivalent, demonstrable industry experience
  • Ability to work within the UK



  • Experience with managing a team
  • Experience with data science languages R or Python
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and familiarity with other front end technologies
  • Experience of working in Customer/User Experience; especially as part of a multidisciplinary design and research team
  • Experience of working with Marketing teams
  • Knowledge of other Software packages for processing and reporting of insights/actions (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience of working in the E-Commerce, Fashion/Luxury sector
  • Masters level or higher qualification
