Interim Head of Procurement  - Initial 6 months

I am looking for a Procurement expert with Public Sector, Contract management  and Scheme Administration experience.  This is a superb opportunity to join the company who are at the forefront of pension reform and automatic enrolment.

A unique and high profile non-departmental public body that’ve been tasked with delivering a major financial services scheme and delivering a large national workplace auto-enrolment pension solution.

The Role
Working collaboratively with, and reporting to the Director of Finance, this person will be part of the Procurement and Contracts team who oversee large numbers of suppliers and contractual agreements.  The team includes scheme and fund administration, investment and fund management, annuity purchase services and support services to the internal organisation.

The role will be to set the framework for all new procurements, management of the Procurement and Contracts team, staffing, provide advice to the team as well as to senior management, manage internal customer expectations and work on Single Tender Actions. 

As well as recruiting, coaching and developing the team will lead on the development and implementation of process efficiencies and provide procurement technical advice and guidance.

The Person

  • Experience of Public Sector procurement and Contract management
  • Line management expertise
  • Familiarity with OGC guidance
  • Experience of drafting contract and procurement documents
  • Practical experience of managing varied procurement operations subject to EU regulations
  • Strong influencing/relationship management skills
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and make recommendations
  • Project management and planning skills
  • A collaborative and engaging style
  • MCIPS qualification
