Job Description



Our client based in Germany is looking for an experienced engineer within the industrial doors industry.


Reporting to the Lead Engineer to manage the installation and service of new and existing projects. To support the Service and Installation Team as required in order to deliver a quality service to all customers at all times within agreed timescales.


Main Duties


To provide electrical and mechanical services to customers


Respond to all of the daily activities planned or relayed by the Lead Engineer or Service & Installations Manager to meet the customer’s requirements


Effectively manage all escalations in a proactive manner to reduce customer down time using specialist product training, knowledge of the customer’s equipment and utilising, as required by fellow members of the service team


Accurately record and report all activities using the relative documents provided by the customers and the company


Respond to performance data relating to our field operations in order to continually improve effectiveness and efficiency


Be available on an 'on call' basis to advise customers out of hours and, if necessary, make site visits


Work with Service & Installations Manager to deliver solutions to customers

Effectively manage any project slippage minimising escalations or project failure

Managing site works for the company (including but not limited to):

  • Supplier deliveries
  • Site diaries
  • Mechanical installation
  • Electrical installation
  • Factory and site testing
  • Commissioning and handover of project to client
  • Snagging/warranty issues

Actively demonstrate the support of other areas/departments within the company, to ensure that a team spirit is observed

Manage site Health & Safety requirements.  Activities are to be carried out to the highest of standards, with a high regard for Health and Safety and a duty of care to all others.


Education and Experience


5+ years experience in customer service or selling services in a B2B environment (previous loading dock equipment sales experience is very beneficial

Strong mechanical/electronic comprehension

Electrical and Mechanical Fault Finding safety equipment, wheel locks, doors, levelers

Competent in use of PCs for diagnostics, reporting and recording (Excel and Word)

Executing and delivering successful projects

Education on middle level, preferably combined with a mechanical/electronic background

Good knowledge of common IT applications

Organised, customer focused, communicative, flexible, professional, problem solving

Fluency in German and English
