Job Description

Our client based in the heart of Bromley is a well-established company in the construction sector which is experiencing continued growth and transitioning from a successful small business to a larger corporate entity.  They are looking for an HR Manager to take ownership of people strategy and operations, delivering HR generalist support to all stakeholders.  The role includes hands-on involvement with operational and administrative functions, consistent with being part of a small HR team.

Duties for the HR Manager

  • Liaising with Recruitment Agencies, reviewing terms and conditions and agreeing fee percentages
  • Taking the brief from the hiring Partner or Team Leader and creating job descriptions
  • Determine the appropriate hiring sources (Recruitment campaigns, External Ads, Portals, etc.)
  • Execute hiring/posting policies and procedures
  • Conduct labour market reviews
  • Address and resolve grievance and disciplinaries
  • Review and maintain HR policy and procedures and advise on employee benefits
  • Deliver people strategy in talent development, succession planning and increasing management capabilities
  • Manage performance management strategies, policies, programs and tools
  • Manage Insurances for Partnership Protection, Group Life Scheme, Board Income Protection, Private Medical including renewals
  • Managing one HR Administrator
  • Organise training around H&S, ensuring procedures are communicated to all employees
  • Ensuring that the business is GDPR compliant and all policies are understood and followed

 

Person Specification for the HR Manager

  • Strong understanding of Recruiting Strategies, Talent Management, Talent Development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law
  • CIPD Level 5 or higher, or an HR Degree or Law Degree
  • Experience in construction, engineering or similar highly desirable
  • H&S experience/knowledge
  • Compliance experience
  • Experience of supporting, guiding and partnering at Director or Board Level

 

This HR Manager role is evolving and there will be room for progression and expansion of the HR team in time.  This company will consider supporting you through further exams, if required.
