Graduate – Business Development (NOT a sales role)

The Employer

This employer has an outstanding reputation for designing and delivering inspirational office spaces and transforming the environment and the way thousands of people work every day.  You will be based yourself in exceptional head offices, learning and developing, training and working as part of an established Business Development team for an employer that delivers highly on employee satisfaction and enjoys a low staff turnover.


The Role

This is NOT a sales role. You will (with support and training) network and interface with (amongst other groups of people) commercial property agents, businesses direct and specialist referral agencies, networking groups and forums in order to find out market trends and information that is valuable to the BD and sales team.  You will be building long term relationships and trusted partnerships, attend meetings, host our events and network with already established and new contacts to identify potential new business opportunities, which will be in turn be referred to the in-house BD support team. 


  • Based (one day a week) from our HQ, this role will entail some travel, fully expensed

  • You will build on existing and new contacts to maximise your own network of contacts, commercial agents and business professionals

  • You will interface with our sales team, feeding the gathered information to them for further qualification and action by the sales managers

  • Responsibilities for the annual programme of events and entertainment plans

  • Uploading information onto the CRM, weekly reporting and working as an integral part of the team as a whole


The Person

  • Degree education

  • Genuine interest in interior design and commercial property

  • Outstanding personal presentation and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to quickly establish a rapport and build long term relationships

  • Work with a degree of autonomy, whilst self-motivated and driven by a desire for success for yourself and the team as a whole
