Glazing Technician Position available, immediate start date!

Do you have previous Glazing experience? Are you immediately available? If so, this may be the perfect role for you  

You will receive a salary of £23,500 per annum.  Benefits will include: 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays, company pension scheme, free car parking and the opportunity to work for a well-established optical organisation.

You will be joining our successful Optical organisation based in Birmingham City Centre, West Midlands (free car parking is available) on a permanent basis

Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, working 2 shift patterns:
Week 1 - Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 3:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm
Week 2 - Monday to Saturday (when working a Saturday you will be given a day off in the week) - 7:00am to 3:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm

Your duties will be:
* Producing high quality glazed spectacles, to meet customer expectations, with minimum rejections
* Working within the glazing area of operations carrying out tasks in accordance to SOP including:
* Lens tinting
* Frame tracing
* Manual and automated blocking
* Lens edging (manual and automated)
* Rimless drilling and milling
* Hand finishing and fitting of full rim metal/plastic frames, supra/nylon frames, rimless frames, horn, gold, wooden and lindberg
* Final verification of complete spectacles to ISO standards
* Ensuring work is prioritised appropriately in date order, to meet customer expectations
* Ensuring that requirements for consumable replenishments are reported to a member of the leadership group when necessary
* Pro-actively deal with process issues and report to line management when necessary
* Ensuring that equipment is cleaned, maintained and in good working order for production
* Ensuring the working environment is clean and tidy, to reduce contamination and meet Health & Safety objectives

You will have:
* Previous glazing experience and understanding of optical manufacturing processes is essential
* Experience in hand finishing and fitting frames such as horn, gold, wooden and lindberg
* Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* Excellent organisational and communication skills with an excellent attention to detail
