Job Description

We are recognised as an outstanding school and we currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis for approximately 4 to 7 weeks, based in Great Barr, Birmingham.

Your salary will be £20,000 per annum / hourly pay rate of £10.40 per hour. Benefits will include:
30 days holiday including Bank Holidays (holiday out of term time only), company pension scheme, childcare voucher and free car parking onsite.

As a Finance Assistant, you will be:
* Dealing with the reconciliation of credit card statement, petty cash, bank and cheque
* Producing the weekly payment runs via BACs and cheque
* Liaising with academies bankers regarding transaction details when necessary
* Inputting information to the Finance system (suppliers, debtors) in accordance with procedures
* Providing financial information reports from the finance system for budget holders on a monthly basis and on request
* Dealing with the preparation of monthly Accruals and Prepayments for review by the Finance Manager
* Preparing the monthly Creditor, Debtor and Deferred Income reports for review by the Finance Manager and monthly Fixed Asset Register for review by the Finance Manager
* Posting cashbook journals
* Analysing all income and expenditure
* Processing Payroll journals into nominal ledger each month
* Assisting in Financial Year End procedure
* Checking of nominal coding, providing guidance where required
* Dealing with queries from suppliers, debtors, budget holders and other Academy staff
* Authorising purchase and credit card orders and purchase invoices
* Producing and maintaining an accurate Business Interest Register and Budget Holders signatures

As a Finance Assistant, you will have:
* Experience of working within a Finance department
* Knowledge of SIMS FMS system however this is not essential
* Excellent attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

Based in Great Barr, Birmingham your hours of work will be Monday to Thursday, 8:15am to 4:15pm and 8:15am to 3:45pm Friday, working 37 hours per week.
