Job Description

As a key member of a highly skilled multi-discipline technical team, you will work closely with the Principal Design Engineer and Engineering Director to develop both firmware and hardware systems and you will be involved with a degree of system level design and technical leadership. This is an exciting time for this design and manufacturing electronics business as they look to increase their product portfolio and double the headcount of their engineering department. It is vital that you have a breadth of knowledge across embedded firmware, a significant understanding of system level design and a natural aptitude for working in a fast paced design and manufacture environment. This is a close knit long standing team who all pull together to ensure quality of product and on time delivery, so you must have willingness to take instruction and to contribute ideas in a team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
Development of VHDL using Xilinx Vivado for ARM-based Zynq SoC devices.
Development of OFDM Radio Receivers using MATLAB/Simulink/HDL-Coder.
Development of SDR in either H/ware or S/ware.
System design and requirements capture of military and aerospace products.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
Familiarity with Digital Communication standards such as DVB-T, LTE, WIMAX.
Highly skilled in VHDL with experience including IP Core development and integration
Experience of Xilinx Vivado (ideal) or Altera Quartus design environments
Experience of MATLAB/Simulink/HDL-Coder Tools
Experience of C/C++ coding for embedded systems
Experience of the GNU Radio toolkit (desirable).
Experience of ARM-Cortex/Linux-driver development (desirable)
Experience of designing to RTCA/DO-254 & 178 (desirable)

You will have a Technical Degree and have 10+ years in a similar role.
