E-Commerce Manager – Home Bargains

A fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking company as an E-Commerce Manager within Home Delivery. As Home Delivery moves from trial stages into a larger independent facility, we are looking for General Managers of the future.

TJ Morris Limited trading as Home Bargains is a privately owned family run discount retailer selling top brands at the lowest possible price on the UK high street.

Having started more than 40 years ago in Liverpool their customers continue to be at the heart of everything they do and throughout their 530 stores have over 4.5 million customers each week


The successful candidate will be required to manage the team from the ground up and drive the facility to achieve. You will be responsible for the E-Commerce Operation, employees, and its success, working closely with the main logistics operation.

The Role:

  • ​Grow sales by defining the online customer proposition and selecting and marketing the right products
  • Benchmark competitors and monitor ecommerce developments to identify opportunities to further improve sales and improve processes
  • ​Ensure end-to-end processes are clear and simple
  • Own the e-commerce P&L and identify opportunities to improve sales and profitability
  • Work with the Innovation Team to design and optimise the e-commerce platform across all devices
  • Deliver a consistently positive online customer experience
  • Monitor platform analytics, customer feedback and data trends to identify improvement opportunities
  • Work with logistics to ensure fulfilment is optimised and meeting customer needs
  • Report on performance, providing insight to grow online operations
  • Direct social media and marketing campaigns to drive growth
  • Work with buyers and engage them in the sales opportunities and support category management
  • Comply with all commercial and trading law regulations
  • Develop and deliver plans to achieve targets and KPIs as set by the business
  • Drive the operation forward daily
  • Promote focus to achieve daily operational KPIs
  • Work with key Stakeholders across various departments including buying, innovation and logistics
  • Ensure safe, productive, and efficient operational functions at all times
  • Analise and evaluate tasks to produce a range of effective solutions to problems
  • Ensure a culture of health and safety within the workplace
  • Ensure accountability of team to perform and meet objectives

Skills & Competencies:

  • 3-5 years’ experience of working in an eCommerce Manager role
  • Experience of working within a high volume and fast paced business 
  • Positive Leadership skills
  • Focussed and have a need to deliver
  • Ability to challenge performance and set expectations
  • Experienced in employee engagement and people management
  • Effective and open communications skills with the ability to influence
  • Ability to manage workloads, exercise discretion and demonstrate judgement in decision making
  • A clear work ethic that strives to achieve work objectives and project goals for self and employees
  • Attention to detail with the ability to future and drive team to achieve


  • £57,000 per annum
  • 20+ 8 Bank Holidays  - Increases Up to 6.6 weeks after 5 years

Based in Liverpool – expectation to work some weekends and night shifts when required
