Continuous Improvement Manager - Manufacturing

The Continuous Improvement Manager will manage the following essential functions:

  • Identify, in conjunction with Process Improvement Engineers and Operations Managers, process and product improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate all yield pipeline activities to meet the established yield improvement goals
  • Prepare a plan/cost benefit analysis setting priorities and resources required to achieve the identified improvement projects
  • Develop a set of measures for Manufacturing Improvement / Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure improvement objectives, specific goals, measures, and metrics are established for each specific improvement project
  • Drive the progress of planned improvement implementations to ensure achievement of expected benefits within the agreed timescales
  • Use appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process and product improvements
  • Actively promote Manufacturing Process Improvement and CI and its activities and services to all employees
  • Develop reports of overall Manufacturing Process and CI activities including accomplishments and projected activities
  • Advises management on the inclusion of appropriate measurement and control, systems, and systems for data collection when establishing Purchase Specifications for new capital projects
  • Communicate key lessons learned and best practices from improvement projects
  • Work in collaboration with other sites and facilities to benchmark processes and identify and establish best practices within our location

Education and Experience

  • A Degree in a field such as Metallurgy, Materials Science, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least five years of experience in a technical/continuous improvement/manufacturing process improvement role in a larger facility, manufacturing environment
  • Extensive experience of using appropriate Continuous Improvement Techniques
  • Six Sigma Black Belt desirbale
  • Proven problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks or projects concurrently
  • Commercial acumen
