Job Description

Product Compliance Engineer, near Basingstoke. International manufacturing company, competitive salary up to 40k pa depending on exp. plus profit related bonus, monthly £1000 attendance lottery, on-site parking, 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, and a 3.45pm finish on Fridays. Can be full time or part time (salary stated is for full time)

Reporting into the Global Technical Manager, you'll work closely with all technical and production personnel and liaise directly with the Managing Director and Chairman. This position is primarily based near Basingstoke but occasional national and international travel may be required.

As the Product Compliance Engineer you will be:

• Creating and maintaining technical files that satisfy the requirements of UL, CCC and CE marking and any other authority that is highlighted in analysis of international market requirements
• Obtaining and managing material data and providing full material declarations in line with RoHS and REACH to customers when requested
• Analysing internal and external (laboratories) test results and determine omissions and discrepancies with relation to operation specification of products
• Ensuring that all published data is correct and accurate with respect to adherence to standards
• Liaising with and arranging test accreditation to international standards either by independent testing or by witness testing
• Monitoring all international standards and highlighting the impact of any changes and/or new standards
• Liaising directly with test laboratories and authorities such as UL to obtain and maintain test accreditation
• Analysing and determining the requirements for accreditation in all international markets
• A part of the engineering change process to ensure that all changes are in line with international standards
• Specifying all the necessary standards and test methods required during new product development and liaising with the design and laboratory engineers to ensure that all new products are developed in a manner that is suitable for international standards accreditation
• Providing technical responses to customers with respect to international standards and product compliance

As the Product Compliance Engineer you will have:

• A general education with GCSEs in Maths and English as a minimum but ideally HND/degree educated in an engineering or science discipline
• Previous training and experience of engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge and experience of liaising with external regulatory organisations and notified bodies
• Fully computer literate with demonstrable ability to transfer skills as and when required
• Able to manage your own workload and deliver the results as agreed by Senior Management with very little direct supervision

Associated Benefits:

• Salary 35 - 40k pa (full time salary) depending on experience
• 36.25 hours per week (full time)

• 8am - 4.45pm Mon-Thurs, 8am - 3:45pm Fri (45 mins lunch)
