Job Description

PSI are offering a great opportunity for a Chartered Fire Engineer to join a company that delivers Fire Engineering solutions to the built environment.

There are several positions available and as long as you can commute to either London, Bristol or Manchester (as well as customer sites), there is no preference to your location.

The salary for these positions are £55,000+ and you also receive good benefits (such as paying your annual membership fee, bonus scheme, above average holidays)

As the Chartered Fire Engineer, you will be liaising with both: External: Clients and client design team, enforcing authorities & Internal: People and Planning Manager, directors, managers and technical colleagues


The Key Responsibilities for the Chartered Fire Engineer:

  • Full project cycle management of own projects and larger cross-team projects
  • Financial management of projects
  • Engineer Plus and Senior Engineer mentor
  • Review Technical documents prepared by others
  • CPD
  • Carry out workshops on FE projects
  • Manage time responsibly
  • Adapt and be flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ensure your own well-being
  • Comply with the IFEs Code of Professional Conduct
  • Work within the company's quality control standards and procedures


The ideal candidate will also:

  • Seek opportunities to develop knowledge and expertise and contributes to training events and learning materials
  • Be accountable for R&D projects
  • Seek competitor information to form a thorough understanding of external market conditions 
  • Utilise PR and networking opportunities
  • Act as a valued partner by actively engaging with clients to build lasting relationships


Essential Skills and Experience for the Chartered Fire Engineer:

Hold a professional registration with Engineering Council through the IFE (or with another Professional Engineering Institution) as a Chartered Engineer

Have broad and varied experience of working within Fire Safety

Ability to manage key client relationships/accounts
