Job Description

Our Basingstoke based client is seeking an Business Graduate to work in their Sales department and who will be predominately focused on account management and maximising sales within existing accounts.  The successful candidate will be commercially astute and act as a key part of the sales process by being the first point of contact for a group of customers and the sales team.

You will be providing pre and post-sales support, processing orders and developing further growth opportunities within the potential customer base – most importantly, you will want to develop and progress into a sales role yourself and work towards account managing an established desk.

Job Role:

* Develop relationships with customers from an existing database to further sales of products and services
* Create new customer lists from social media sites and find new ways to generate leads
* Manage the day-to-day sales cycle and assist the sales team to optimise sales and profitability
* Create and maintain customer account plans to maximise sales opportunities
* Produce quotations, prepare proposals and provide information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates
* Identify the specific needs of clients and internal departments and creatively identify how to meet those needs
* Negotiate the terms of an agreement with customers with support from the Sales Director
* Listen to the customers’ requirements and present appropriately to make a sale.
* Ensure monthly forecasts are monitored on a monthly basis against actual orders received and shipped
* Identify and escalate technical issues, ensuring that these are resolved through the appropriate channels
* Participate in marketing programs and events – this will include distributing marketing communications and supporting/attending exhibitions and events as required
* Provide exceptional sales administration support to the team
* Manage, hit and exceed set KPI's
* Be adaptable and flexible and complete any other tasks as required to ensure the effective operation of the role and the whole department

Preferred Skills:

* You must have the desire and drive to want to progress into an account manager / sales role managing your own client accounts
* Proactive and driven to achieve results and ensure timely
* Language skills are highly advantageous with a focus on Spanish or French
* Previous experience of paper handling systems is a distinct advantage
* Experience in a B2B environment
* University Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical
* The ability to provide exceptional customer service at all times
* Key listening skills, clear and concise communication skills
* Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise multiple task, a team player who can also work independently
