Due to a period of exciting growth and development, my client are looking to grow their business development team selling to verticals including retail, financial services, utilities and other large UK organisations. They believe in painting better pictures faster for their clients to enable them to make more timely strategic decisions within their business and are passionate about providing intelligence and insight to our clients to ensure their businesses can be as dynamic and competitive as they possibly can.

They are looking for a proven lead generating Business Development Manager to join their growing sales team. This role will be based at the Head Office in Southampton although extensive national travel will be expected. Part of an expanding team of dynamic and highly motivated sales professionals, the role covers new business lead generation and solution sales with candidates responsible for the delivery of business development commercial targets within a defined industry sector. The candidate will work closely with account directors, marketing and product teams driving revenue acquisition will ensure that the business goals are achieved.

Duties & Accountabilities

 

Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities from new accounts. 

Establish and execute a comprehensive strategic and operational sales plan for each target account.

Continuously monitor status of leads and opportunities to ensure a pipeline of opportunities is maintained.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of all solutions for appropriate cross-sell opportunities.

Analyse potential opportunities and develop sales strategies for each customer account. Ensure appropriate strategy/solution is proposed to customer.

Monitor actions and results against plans. Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within an account and develop deep knowledge of the customer organisation.

Create meeting opportunities with new accounts to propose and present solutions. Write compelling proposals and deliver impressive presentations to new accounts

To effectively liaise with internal colleagues, particularly in Marketing,

Product and Client Delivery so that excellent customer service is provided

Continually identifying new prospects and entering on CRM database ensuring correct organisations and decision makers are being targeted

Network in the industry to establish relationships and to identify potential opportunities Business

Competencies and deliverables

 

Ability to self-organization including efficient scheduling, time-managements skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and in tight deadlines.

Can demonstrate success as in lead generation and business development roles

Proven networker, with polished ability to engage at events and ad hoc meetings, rapidly broadening market awareness

High level of IT competency with knowledge and use of Salesforce CRM a benefit

A Negotiator and proven seller with the ability to work to strict KPI’s and sales targets Ability to help develop and implement an effective account management plan.

Ability to work to defined and measurable targets This role will suit highly driven, resourceful self-starters with a strong desire to challenge and deliver.

Ability to present and engage senior level management
