 The Company

Established, rapidly growing respected privately owned warehouse and distribution company providing UK and European palletised freight distribution and worldwide air freight and cargo services with established network partners and pallet distribution network. It intends to strengthen its position in the market and has recently obtained a distribution contract with a high brand retailer. The company wishes to develop new commercial opportunities within various multi-modal sectors

The Role

Reporting to the UK Transport Operations Manager, to oversee all aspects of transport and warehousing and ensure staffing levels are covered for all operations. Manage Operational Staff, Drivers, Temporary Recruitment and Warehouse Personnel

Key responsibilities

- Prepare reports for Operations Manager
- Plan resources efficiently
- Identifying areas of development and prioritise the work load accordingly
- Manage all processes & procedures
- Compliance & legislation
- Enhance efficiencies
- Enhance relationships with key partners and customers
- Manage company systems to measure performance i.e. Tachomaster, Verification and TMS
- Insurance claims & investigation
- Analyse company systems to measure performance
- Manage Fleet and revenue KPIs
- Delivery performance & compliance KPIs
- Monitor customer spend & trading activity
- Support new projects and opportunities
- Generate and develop operational procedures for new custom and opportunities
- Customer retention, promote business to customers & prospects
- Monitor response time to customer requests and queries
- Update policies in line with legislation
- Carry out quarterly audits
- Ensuring deadlines are met
- Liaise with professional support and guidance & carry out annual reviews
- Report incidents and carry out investigations

The Candidate

- Experience of a similar role

- Hands on manager, determined, with a ‘Can-do’ approach

-  Have a CPC or actively seek gaining one and formal qualifications in management.
