Job Description

Axcess Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant Finance Manager to join our clients Leading Industry Business based in West Lothian.

You will be reporting to the Finance Manager and will be supporting the finance team, you will provide management information and to support effective budgetary control. This opportunity would suit someone who has recently graduated, and is looking to enhance and develop their skills in finance and accounting.

Duties will include:

  • Day-to-day management of sales and purchase ledger
  • Supplier payment runs and other general banking duties
  • Posting credit card and petty cash transactions
  • Preparation of journal entries (prepayments & accruals)
  • Daily bank reconciliation, including foreign currency accounts
  • Month-end balance sheet reconciliation
  • Management accounting support to the Finance Team
  • P&L preparation and analysis
  • Preparation of information pack
  • Review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 12 month’s experience in a similar accounting role
  • Highly numerate, with an understanding of basic accounting principles such as double-entry accounting
  • Confident with analysis of financial information
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Good communication skills and be a team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload efficiently
  • Takes initiative, has a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Diligent with attention to detail - accuracy essential
