Job Description
On behalf of our client, a well-established accountancy practice in Gerrards Cross, we are recruiting for a qualified Accountant to join the firm’s dynamic team. This position has the focus on cloud accounting and as such, the relevant experience is a prerequisite.
This role will comprise a varied workload and the firm is looking for applications from accounting professionals with a well-rounded knowledge, a breadth of experience and proven leadership abilities.
As Accountant, you will have the following responsibilities:
- For year-end statutory clients, preparation of full balance sheet reconciliation and preparation of accounts preparation working papers
- Bookkeeping for clients to include full bank reconciliation for all clients
- Entry into the accounting package of all available sales and purchase invoices (minimal coding from the bank)
- Appropriate document retention of all tax point documentation
- Full balance sheet reconciliation on all clients at least quarterly
- Timely and accurate VAT return submission and payment following positive confirmation from clients
- Timely and accurate EC Sales submission
- Timely and accurate loading and confirmation of client payment runs
- Client visits to assess current systems and processes
- Xero/ Quickbooks client training
- Assistance in cloud transitions to include master data upload/ chart of accounts upload
- Bank feed set up
To be considered for this role, applicants will satisfy the following criteria:
- Be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant or an exceptional part-qualified or QBE
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience within practice
- Be conversant with cloud based accounting tools, including Xero and QuickBooks
- Have leadership qualities; preferably experienced in delivering projects or running a team
- Be a team player
- Have excellent communication skills
