The Company and the Role:
Amazing Telecoms Support Engineer opportunity within an award-winning national Telecommunications business based in West Sussex. This permanent role will have you working in a Tier 2 desk-based team.
You will provide Tier 2 technical support with the primary focus delivering first class support across the client portfolio.
You will be working with a variety of small, medium and large enterprise scale solutions covering support, technical validation, and software lifecycle management.
You will provide Tier 2 support and effective escalation to Tier 3 where required.
Key Features of the Role:
You will hold individual responsibility for the fault diagnosis and remote rectification work you are involved in with your client’s and managing their SLA’s.
Carrying out programming requests, responding to internal and external customer queries.
You are responsible for your client’s technical job queues, ensuring jobs are being picked up and progressed.
Provide technical support to field engineers and work closely with Tier 3 engineers to feedback any technical issues that need technical bulletins creating or high-level investigation.
Attend continuous development training courses to remain knowledgeable and flexible when resolving client technical needs.
Knowledge and Skills:
As a Tier 2 Telecoms Support Engineer you will need a strong background in Telecommunications and VoIP.
Knowledge of VMWare environments is also a must
Mitel MCD and MiVoice business knowledge and accreditation is required.
You will need specialisation of the Mitel product portfolio and associated applications.
You will have a basic knowledge of IP networking, including IP Addressing, Routing, DHCP and voice trunking including SIP and using Wireshark.
Competency with wired and wireless data networks is an expectation to deploy support and trouble shoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches running VLAN supporting Voice applications.
Knowledge and experience of virtualised environments is preferred.
What’s on Offer?
Basic salary ranging up to £28,000, which will be assessed at interview and based on experience plus other contributing factors.
Core working hours 9:00 till 17:30 Monday to Friday, however there may well be some requirements to work some weekends and outside of these hours.
25 days holiday + bank holidays + additional 1 day’s holiday for every year worked up to 30 days holiday maximum.
The option to buy up to an extra 5 holiday days.
