Job Description

The Company and the Role:
This waterside restaurant is part of a larger South Coast based hospitality Group which comprises some of Hampshire's and Dorset’s  finest restaurants, bars and boutique hotels. Born from a unique and prestigious heritage of the leading independent leisure group in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, each having an enviable reputation for fine food and drink. Served in superb surroundings, with each restaurant and bar having its own unique concept.
All of the company’s restaurants are situated on the waterfront hence their tagline ‘meet, drink and eat by the water’.
The Company takes great pride in the quality of the local fresh food they serve, the diversity of their menu and the attentive, passionate and friendly staff they employ.
The customers expect a great experience every time they visit one of their Restaurants and Bars, and together as a team it's their job to ensure that the customer’s expectations are met, and hopefully exceeded every time they visit.
Within one of their bars and restaurants situated close to the water on the South Coast, near to Poole they are seeking an Assistant Manager. The position is permanent.

Key Features of the Role:
As Assistant Manager you will help support the Management Team and be the vital link between them and the FOH and BOH staff, in an award winning restaurant.
Having pride and passion for the great food and service that is offered in a relaxed and friendly marina environment.
You will be expected to be self-motivated and to lead a team through professional communication methods, as the face of the company to customers.
As a member of the management team you will be expected to be emotionally robust and someone who can always offer great customer service, even in the face of adversity and pressure.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a very busy environment, to an award winning standard, enhancing the company’s reputation for consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality that is second to none.

Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Assistant Manager, ideally with experience of working in a restaurant, gastro pub or in a similar environment.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food and beverage knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential.
You must have experience and a desire to work within the catering and hospitality, possessing ambition to continually push the business forward and your own career progression.
You must have exemplary customer service skills and a can do attitude that is service orientated, as  well as being able to challenge complacency by acting as a role model to the rest of the team.
Own transport is essential due to location and lack of public transport amenities.
What’s on Offer?
A basic salary up to £22,000 based on experience and knowledge, assessed at trial interview.
Additional earning opportunity through bonus once the first 3 months have been completed successfully and to the satisfaction of the company.
Full time permanent work, 48 hours per week.
2 Days off are calculated as a half day then a full day and then another half day off one after another. For example if you finished at 4pm on a Wednesday, you would get the whole of Thursday off and would not be back into work until 4pm Friday.
Free parking at venue.
Pay review after successful completion of your first 3 months.
Other benefits include meals on duty, a staff discount card, free uniforms and there are truly excellent opportunities for development in the wider group of venues across the South Coast.
