Located in between Southampton and Winchester this establishment is a 1 Rosette Gastro Pub where the community comes together to eat Gastro food, sit and enjoy a drink in their sunny garden and families go to enjoy their fetes and music festivals.
They believe that a dish relies heavily upon its ingredients. They believe you source local produce not just for quality, it’s also imperative for the environment and local economy.
They are seeking a Commis Chef. The position is permanent.
Key Features of the Role:
The Commis Chef is a vital asset to the Kitchen team, without the attention to detail paid to the preparation of the variety of dishes service could be a disaster
During service the Commis Chef is the fast-paced culinary Ninja that is required to support the team in executing delicious, well presented dishes to our customers.
The Company takes great pride in the quality of the local fresh food they serve, the diversity of their menu and the attentive, passionate and friendly staff they employ.
Together as a team it's your job to ensure that the customer’s expectations are met and exceeded every time they visit.
The Company is seeking an ambitious and committed individual with a passion for good food who is ready to continue developing their career in a growing hospitality group.
You will be a valued member of the team assisting the whole team produce the best quality results for every customer’s culinary experience, emulating the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
This is a very busy working environment, and as well as having high standards and demonstrating good attention to detail.
You’ll be part of a team who helps influence effective kitchen controls and to achieve good gross profit, efficient ordering and stock control as well as driving excellent standards of health and hygiene.
Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Commis Chef with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level.
Above all you must be a real “foodie” able to spread the word to the Company’s customers about the importance of the art of serving good, fresh and local food in an ever-increasing world where convenience is becoming the norm, they need people who have a love and passion for all things food.
You should possess ambition to continually push yourself to move up to the next career level.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a very busy bar and restaurant, where the Company’s reputation for consistently preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the right quality, is second to none.
You should have a passion for producing the perfect dish every time, having a desire to aim for high standards.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential, with fresh, quality food and someone who can thrive under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
What’s on Offer?
Basic salary will be in a range from £17,500 to £18,500 per annum depending upon experience. In addition you will receive tips.
48 hour working week , 5 days out of 7.
