a Van Sales Representative to operate out of their depot in the West Midlands. The position is permanent
Key Features of the Role:
The role of a Van Sales Representative requires a confident and professional individual who can represent the Company, building sales on existing business, increasing sales volumes within your territory, and deliver a reliable customer service to the highest standard.
The role also requires handling and rotating of stock, cash handling, waste management, weekly target adherence and basic account management and reporting.
You will have your own identified route / terrority to work with existing customers and to win new customers.
You will make daily deliveries of pre-ordered food products and whilst with the customer you will try and increase sales by up selling, range selling and selling new product lines or products on promotion.
This is a real relationship building role, getting to know your customers and which products sell best for them at which time of year.
Daily Duties: • Pre-Route Planning • Undertake a vehicle walk around, identifying any defects • Undertake vehicle checks (oil, tyres, water, etc.) • Undertake temperature checks of fridge and freezer • Undertake stock checks, highlighting any discrepancies Administration • Route Planning • Temperature Sheets • Price lists / Promotion Information. Salesperson KPI’s • Customer Relations and Range Selling • Product/Pricing Knowledge • Driving Standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
You must have a full clean driving licence to include a Category C1 (7.5 tonne) entitlement, and it is advantageous if you hold or have undergone any training modules regarding the Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
The role requires also that you are over 25 for insurance purposes and you must have no more than 6 points on your driver’s licence.
The ideal background for the role would be someone who has sales or customer service or retail experience.
Clearly you must be a confident communicator on all levels and an excellent relationship builder. The company will provide full product and sales development training so you can rest assured that you will receive full support from the company.
You will need to be an early riser as typically start times are at 5am each day, working Monday to Friday.
You need to be a great relationship builder, operating with high levels of integrity and giving your customers sound advice.
You will meet the same customer’s week in week out, so your ability to build relationships is key to your success.
