Our Client is an independently owned Hampshire based hospitality Group which comprises some of Hampshire's finest restaurants, bars and boutique hotels which are born from a unique and prestigious heritage of the leading independent leisure group in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, each having an enviable reputation for fine food and drink served in superb surroundings with each restaurant and bar having its own unique concept.
Our client is growing their business and looking for talented Sous Chefs across the group with flair and ambition, who can develop and inspire teams to produce great results. The positions are permanent.
Our Client takes great pride in the quality of the local fresh food they serve, the diversity of their menu and the attentive, passionate and friendly staff they employ. Their customers expect a great experience every time they visit one of our clients Hotels, Restaurants and Bars and together as a team it's their job to ensure that the customer’s expectations are met and hopefully exceeded every time they visit.
All of our client’s food will be prepared on site using the best ingredients, local where possible using carefully sourced suppliers.
You will be a great team player with good organisational skills and the ability to thrive is a very busy restaurant where our client’s reputation for consistently preparing cooking and presenting our dishes to the right quality is second to none.
You will assist and deputise for the Head Chef and assist them in developing the best team.
Everything is prepared in house using fresh ingredients using local suppliers wherever possible.
As Sous Chef you will set the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
These are excellent opportunities and could be in any one of our client’s establishments i.e. boutique hotels, waterside bar and restaurants, European cuisine restaurants, country hotels etc.
These are very busy working environments, and as well as having high standards and demonstrating good attention to detail, you’ll be part of a team who helps influence effective kitchen controls to achieve good gross profit, efficient ordering and stock control as well as driving excellent standards of health and hygiene.
You will need to thrive in a very busy environment and enjoy working as part of a team.
Knowledge and Skills:
You should be an accomplished Head Chef or Sous Chef ideally with experience of working in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level or a CDP / Junior Sous Chef looking to move up to the next level.
Your practical experience should ideally be supported by some form of catering qualification.
You should have a passion for producing the perfect dish every time.
Previous experience in a similar role requiring a broad food knowledge and precise attention to detail is essential.
You should have worked in a busy kitchen and thrive under pressure.
You must have experience and desire to work with fresh, quality food.
You should possess ambition to continually drive the business forward.
You will be an excellent team player and leader who can respectfully communicate to the team.
You will have a track record of working with and developing strong teams.
You will have good financial understanding and have a track record of controlling costs and stocks.
You will have good knowledge of hygiene and health and safety.
You should possess a lot of stamina/energy to keep up to speed during occasional hectic spells of business.
You should have a desire to aim for high standards.
You should be reliable, hardworking, trustworthy and passionate in your work.
Standard working week is 5 days on, 2 days off. Flexible shift patterns
Basic salary will be up to £21-22k plus there is a bonus scheme in place and you will receive tips paid on a weekly basis, Other benefits include meals on duty, a staff discount card, free uniforms and there are truly excellent opportunities for development in the wider group.
