Job Description

Our client is an independent, family-owned business, established for over 75 years and is one of the North of England’s leading independent Foodservice Wholesalers supplying multi temperature products to foodservice clients throughout an area from Birmingham up to Newcastle upon Tyne.  
Operating from 4 depots their client base includes nursing homes, hotels, restaurants, schools, colleges and industrial caterers.
Reporting into the Contracts and Group Account Manager, they are currently seeking a Key Account Manager to manage some National account units, multi-site regional accounts and medium sized groups and high value independent customers within the independent sector. The position is permanent.
Your geographical area will include Birmingham and upwards to include Newcastle upon Tyne.
You will build, develop and strengthen relationships with these existing accounts through effective cross selling and up selling and providing them with excellent customer service and account management.
You will have various methods at your disposal and our client will support you every step of the way.
Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will be an experienced Terrority Sales / Business Development Managers with experience having been gained with a delivered foodservice wholesaler or possibly catering equipment sector.
You will already have experience of managing regional and key accounts and ideally living in Lancashire or Greater Manchester
As our client is a forward thinking growth player in the foodservice sector, candidates must be career focused and motivated towards driving substantial growth across a portfolio of customers some of whom are high profile and high value.
A natural confident communicator and negotiator you must understand what it takes to deliver a quality service to regional and national account type customers and be capable of forging your own sales plans.
You will be numerate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to communicate at all levels and be decisive, assertive and persuasive.
You will enjoy a level of autonomy and therefore must be highly self-motivated to achieve agreed goals.
You will have strong negotiating and relationship skills and able to manage your own time effectively.
A full driving licence is a prerequisite as there will be a considerable amount of travel in the role.

Basic salary will be in a range of between £34-36k, possibly more for an outstanding candidate.
In addition, there is a bonus scheme in operation plus company car, mobile phone etc. and the other usual benefits.
