Description	Julia Doherty ran a successful recruitment agency for many years. Business was good but it was when she started to use social media that the business took off. After selling her recruitment business Julia launched Green Umbrella in December 2009 to help other businesses gain success through social media. “Social media has exploded in recent years. At the beginning of 2010 Twitter had 75m user accounts and 27m tweets per day. Today there are more than 175m Twitter users and 95m tweets per day. LinkedIn has grown by 100% in the last year and Facebook has gone from 350m users in January 2010 to 640m users today – half of whom log in daily.” Julia says “don’t worry if you’re not a social media expert, Green Umbrella can help you through the set up. Social recruiting is really just like traditional recruitment but using slightly different tools.” Green Umbrella also runs training workshops for groups and individuals to learn all the “tricks”.
