White Horse Employment spearheads local campaign for delivering jobs for the future

4.5.2010

Opportunities to be “heard” are few and far between, and with the General Election just around the corner, White Horse Employment are promoting how the local recruitment industry plays a pivotal role in creating prosperity, enhancing opportunities and delivering the jobs of the future.

Parliamentary Candidates were invited to hear local views and highlight the national issues raised within the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) Manifesto, recognised as a major voice on employment and labour market issues in the UK. Rebecca Rennison, Labour Parliamentary Candidate, South West Wiltshire, took time out of her busy schedule leading up to election to discuss these issues with the White Horse team.

Outlining the key issues facing the industry, the REC seeks action in three key areas; creating the right economic climate for businesses to thrive, removing barriers to growth and prosperity, delivering opportunities and jobs.

Beverley Glover, Managing Director, said “it is essential at this time the Recruitment industry has its voice heard, both locally and nationally, and this is an excellent opportunity that can not be missed, we play an important role in the local area, particularly in this turbulent time. We have worked closely with our clients to put in place a recruitment strategy to achieve growth in this area – essential on the road to recovery”.

Rebecca took a keen interest in the issues facing SMEs and recruiters and was impressed by the action the industry was taking to promote recovery.

"I really appreciated the opportunity to learn first hand from White Horse Employment about the support needed for SMEs and also about some of the challenges facing the recruitment industry today” commented Rebecca, “I realise these have been difficult times for recruiters, and I wish everyone at White Horse Employment the greatest success going forward".
